ESL English Basic Skills Instructor
Adjunct Faculty
English Lang Learn & Adult Ed - HELA

The English Language Learning (ELL) program is seeking adjunct instructors to teach in-person ESL classes in our English Basic Skills (EBS) program. EBS classes range from beginning to high intermediate proficiency levels and focus on developing communication, reading and writing, grammar, and life skills. We are seeking instructors to teach at locations in and around Annapolis, Arnold, Arundel Mills, Glen Burnie, Odenton, and Laurel. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include: assessing and recording student progress and attendance, meeting required deadlines for submitting grades and other administrative tasks and participating in departmental professional learning events.

Instructors will be expected to adhere to any college or county mask mandates in place at the time.

Candidates invited for an interview will be asked to present a short teaching demonstration.

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in TESOL, education, or related field.
Two years experience teaching TESOL or related subject required.
Experience working with populations from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds required.
Availability to teach in-person two mornings or two evenings per week required. 
Proficiency in a foreign language (Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, French, Korean, etc.) a plus.
Online teaching experience a plus.
