The Skilled Trades Instructor is responsible for classroom and lab instruction in the assigned trade. The instructor is to follow the curriculum outline and learning expectations assigned by ABC and our Maryland Apprenticeship Standards. Assigning grades and recording attendance are the responsibility of the instructor. The instructor is expected to perform instructional duties and responsibilities in accordance with the mission, and policies/procedures of ABC for a diverse student population. Instructors are also required to adhere to Anne Arundel Community College's Adjunct Faculty Instructional polices and procedures.

ABC Chesapeake Shores uses the NCCER (The National Center for Construction Education and Research) Curriculum. It was developed with the support of more than 125 construction CEOs and various association and academic leaders who united to revolutionize training for the construction industry. Sharing the common goal of developing a safe and productive workforce, these companies created a standardized training and credentialing program for the industry.

This position is part- time, with a total of 6 class room hours a week. Classes take place on a Monday, Wednesday or Tuesday, Thursday rotation, at Anne Arundel Community College. Some classes are subject to take place at our lab space in Severn, MD. Class begins at 6 PM and ends at 9 PM.

 Journeyman license/ journeyman level knowledge in specific trade
• Safety Awareness
• Thorough knowledge of the principles, terminology, tools and equipment used in the given trade
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Desire to see students succeed
• Ability to cater to students’ learning needs
• Availability to complete NCCER’s Craft Instructor Certification Training within 6 months of employment
