English Basic Skills (EBS) classes are designed for adult students who possess emerging proficiency in English across five levels (low beginning-high intermediate). Emphasis is placed on basic grammar, reading and writing, pronunciation and listening, life and work skills, and civics. Instruction is based on student needs, levels, and the Maryland Content Standards for Adult ESL/ESOL. Classes are held at twelve locations throughout Anne Arundel County.

Duties include classroom instruction, recording attendance hours (in compliance with grant requirements), use of Microsoft OneDrive, maintenance of close communication with ELL staff via AACC email, administration of CASAS exams, and other tasks as needed.

Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Education/TESOL.
One year experience teaching or tutoring required, ESL preferred.
Experience working with populations from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds required.
