Fitness Center Staff

This position requires the staff member to assist with the overall successful operation of the college fitness center including supervising the check-in desk, completion of participant waivers, monitoring the fitness center as well as ensuring a safe environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Performing fitness assessments and equipment orientation to help participants achieve fitness goals
  • Demonstrating proper form and techniques
  • Assisting with maintaining cleanliness and equipment maintenance 
  • Ensuring fitness programs are safe and effective
  • Maintaining fitness equipment as needed and report unsafe conditions to the Department’s Health Fitness Coordinator 
  • Completing opening and closing check lists which includes periodic inventory of equipment
  • Responding to emergency situations according to the College policies
  • Other duties as assigned

The position requires CPR/AED and a NCCA accredited health fitness professional/personal training certification from organizations such as the American College of Sports Medicine, American Council of Exercise, National Association of Sports Medicine or related two-year degree.
