Non-Credit Part-Time Intro to Word/Excel Instructor

The primary purpose of the Introduction to Computers Instructor is to fulfill the following duties and responsibilities:

• Provide basic computer instruction to incarcerated adults at Maryland Correctional facilities;
• Provide course instruction in Word and Excel;
• Provide instruction and retention strategies to students in basic computer skills;
• Deliver class curriculum that fosters mastery of technology; basic computer skills for adult learners; 
• Encourage students to achieve personal outcomes and to become empowered in computer technology;
• Distribute copies of the syllabus at the beginning of the first class session and give an overview in class;

In addition to teaching, instructors are responsible for:
• Assigning grades
• Recording attendance
• Attending mandatory meetings
• Complete all forms and documentation related to the course and all documentation required by the College.

• Bachelor’s degree required;
• Minimum of two years' teaching experience;
• Teaching experience with diverse populations;
• Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with students, faculty, staff, business/industry and the public;
• Computer literate;
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

 

14 hours per week
$24/hour
